Name: whitney tellache

Hometown: Portland, OR

Job title: Influencer Marketing Manager

Cause you’re willing to fight for:

Animal Welfare and Humane Education! My family and I are big advocates of animal adoption as we’ve always rescued. I have two Boxers, Beau (formally used as a bait dog for dog fighting) was rescued from Boxer Rescue LA and my Maizy was rescued from The Baldwin Park Animal Care Center, which happens to be one of the largest and most progressive animal control agencies in the US.

I feel like I’m always asking everyone this question but it’s important…what do you love about what you do?

I love that I get to meet other influential likeminded individuals like you. Not only do I get to meet them but I get to work with them everyday and call them my teammates. Coming into to the office isn’t so bad when its a positive working environment that encourages us to be creative and stay inspired. The cute pups around the office, slides, swinging chairs, workout classes (which I should use) and amazing coffee bar might also help a little. 😉

Influencer marketing requires a lot of gifting – I’m dying to know what toms piece you are most excited to gift right now!

For the ladies, I’m all about our new Fall booties, tote bags and vintage inspired eyewear! They make for some timeless closet additions.

I still can’t believe going to music festivals like coachella, south by southwest, and lollapalooza are just a regular day on the job for you! Do you have a favorite festival?

I’d have to say Lollapalooza, you can always expect a solid lineup. What’s not to love about a summer festival in the park, the city scape in the background and good music? Am I right?

When you’re back at home in LA how do you make a point to live consciously?

The basics! I try to carpool, recycle, conserve and shop thoughtfully whenever possible. Growing up in Portland, living consciously is a way of life. I’m fortunate these things were built into my DNA!  When I moved into my first apartment my roommates didn’t recycle. Once I showed them that a simple act like turning in our cans and bottles would earn us money…and ultimately buy us wine, they jumped right on board.

You’ve seen the socially conscious movement really begin to take off; what excites you most about the possibilities for this industry?

Knowledge is power. I love discovering new brands that are socially conscious or give back. Lately I’ve found myself saying “why didn’t I think of that?” quite often. I love that this movement is inspiring others to take a risk and start something that matters (no pun intended – Blake’s book), but most of all I think the educational component is most important. There are so many causes that need attention and love out there!

Alright, now for a totally random one! I happen to know you are a music aficionado, I MUST know who is on repeat for you – specifically those that haven’t hit the radio yet.

Lately my playlist has been a soulful mix of sounds from Soulection radio and jams from artists including Gavin Turek, Kehlani, JMSN, Leon Bridges and Gallant.

Lastly, and certainly my favorite question…these days what are you most grateful for?

EVERYTHING! Specifically though? Well that’s easy…the people (and pets!) in my life. They keep me smiling, laughing and no matter what they support my every move. They make me want to be a better person every day, including you Jess!
